SaruTobi — One of the first play-to-earn games that gave birth to the metaverse

Are you ready to hear the story about one of the first play-to-earn games that gave birth to the metaverse? Grab some popcorn and take a seat cause you’re in for a treat.

Make sure you read to the end for news on the massive giveaway!

In late 2014 Christian Moss released SaruTobi on the IOS app store where players received small amounts of Bitcoin as they played.

There were only two native cards in SaruTobi, the STBNIMBUS which gave you a power up and the NINJASUIT which allowed you to double jump and earn more bitcoin.

What makes the NINJASUIT so special is that it was

the first asset from SaruTobi — an early play to earn game that gave birth to an interoperable metaverse.

And, it also represents the first tokenized gaming skin to provide in-game utility.

Only 200 exist, and it’s believed there are less than 100 accessible if you account for inactive/lost wallets.

In June 2016, Spells of Genesis cards became interoperable inside SaruTobi where cards from one independent game were playable in another. This was the first strike against the centralized trillion dollar gaming industry and historically marked the humble beginnings of the metaverse. [Cue goosebumps]

When activated, the CNPCARD would rescue you if you fell. The SARUTOBICARD would give you a +10 power up in game and the most notable card, SATOSHICARD

  • Unlocked A New Background,
  • Provided more control as you flew; and
  • Is the oldest and rarest card of the 3.

And if this wasn’t enough. After Christian did all this, he went on to create SaruTobi island. Further expanding his pioneering endeavours in the metaverse. SaruTobi island had AR capabilities and allowed any XCP token to be used in game to create monsters, which I believe is an amazing accomplishment.

There were 3 native cards in Sarutobi Island and MANDELDUCK was the first.

For a bit of context:

Spells of Genesis: has the FDCARD and SATOSHICARD

Rare Pepe: has the RAREPEPE NAKAMOTO Card;

And Sarutobi: has the NINJASUIT

The FDCARD, SATOSHICARD and RAREPEPE NAKAMOTO cards have all had sales of over 100 Eth… so by those measures I believe the NINJASUIT is criminally undervalued.

I believe history will favour collections such as this and in time, Christian will be rightly renowned as a pioneer of the metaverse.
